Llandudno is proud to be the next host of Armed Forces Day in 2018. This will be the 10th Armed Forces Day and is supported by the Ministry of Defence, the Welsh Government and Conwy County Borough Council. North Wales has various historical links to the Armed Forces with an RAF jet training base in Anglesey and a Reserve Army Unit. The event will see thousands of spectators and participants taking to Llandudno’s promenade, which makes the Four Oaks Hotel the ideal place to stay for those wishing to show their support for our armed forces.
The Defence Minister for the Lords, Earle Howe has said; “Llandudno represents a superb venue for next year’s celebrations and I’m sure the town will bring together the whole nation in celebrating our Armed Forces. Wales was the proud host of the national event in 2010 when thousands of people celebrated in Cardiff. The support from the Welsh Government and local communities, coupled with the rich and vibrant history of Llandudno, means that the town is the ideal choice to make the event more successful in 2018.”
The week-long event is an incredibly important occasion for both Llandudno and the whole of Wales. There are over 10,000 veterans living in the Conwy County area, making this an incredibly proud moment for a large majority of the North Wales Coast. There is a parade that allows veterans and supporters of the occasion to take part, as well as volunteer to chaperone the event due to the grand scale.
Booking your accommodation in time for this popular event is vital, so why not contact our luxury Four Oaks Hotel in Llandudno to check availability for the ideal seafront accommodation option and to avoid disappointment.
