Christmas Events Near Llandudno
In just over a week, December will be here. A hotel in Llandudno might just be what you need for a relaxing weekend break before the true Christmas rush begins.
For the past month or two, you’ve probably already been subjected to Christmas décor everywhere whilst shopping – but now the real countdown begins. Children start to eagerly open their advent calendars and the Coca Cola adverts begin to appear between every television programme you watch.
Christmas also means there are plenty of events to keep you entertained whilst the weather is cold and the evenings are dark. It’s a time of celebration, so here are five wonderful event suggestions near Llandudno that might interest you this November and December.
The Conwy Winterfest will be taking place on Saturday, December 10th between 4pm and 7pm. This medieval themed event will include a wide range of entertainment, including street entertainers, live musicians, choirs, dancers, sword fighting and tasty roasted chestnuts. There will also be a very dramatic torch lit procession of armoured knights through the historical town!
Plas Mawr is a fantastic historical townhouse in the town of Conwy. On Saturday the 10th December and Sunday the 11th, Plas Mawr will be hosting a Christmas wreath making workshop between the hours of 11am to 4pm.
All the the natural materials will be supplied, and there will be a small charge. Its a great way to create a personal and homemade gift for someone you care about.
With its traditional Elizabethan interior, this impressive building is sure to get you into a traditional festive spirit.
The theatre is the perfect night out during the festive period, and for many it’s a family tradition. The Nutcracker, based upon the wonderful fairy-tale ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ will be performed in Venue Cymru on the 30th November.
This fairy-tale will be recreated by the Russian State Ballet & Opera House, with a live orchestra of over 30 musicians. If you enjoy theatre and ballet – this is one that should not be missed.
This event is situated a bit further than the rest, but it’s worth the journey to see this beautiful national trust property. Between the 2nd and 5th of December the rooms of this huge country house will be filled full of food and craft stalls, all from local producers.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, children can visit Santa in the Octagon Room. Entry for this is £5 and includes a gift to take home.
This fair has been extended this year so more people have a chance to visit! There’s a £1 entry for adults to the fair, with children going free to it.
“Oh no, I didn’t! Oh yes, you did” Many of us have been to a pantomime during Christmas time at least once. If you have, you’ll know it’s a good laugh for both children and adults alike. This year, Venue Cymru is featuring a pantomime based upon the Disney musical classic, Aladdin.
There will be shows between the 10th and 31st December – giving you plenty of chances to be entertained by an enthusiastic and very entertaining cast. Welsh rugby star, Gareth Thomas, will be playing the main role of Aladdin. Will Princess Jasmine be rescued?
